THINGS TO DO

New Braunfels is a tourist town..  The tourism is driven by the fact that two rivers run through the community.  There is white water rafting on the Guadalupe River and tube floating on the Comal River.  Schlitterbahn is the largest water park in the nation and is within the New Braunfels city limits.  Natural Bridge Caverns is a fabulous live cavern 10 miles away.  San Antonio, home of the Alamo and the River Walk, is a visual treat.

If you are spending more than one day in the area, Fredericksburg, a picture postcard German town, is delightful shopping and eating mecca.  I describe it as the home of Fleet Admiral Chester A. Nimitz.  This town has museums, restaurants, bakeries, and “just darling shops.”  Your wife will tell you to “get over here, this is just darling.”  Gruene, Texas, is one mile from the office.  It is much like Fredericksburg on a smaller scale, i.e. 5 good restaurants and about 20 “just darling shops.”  Please remember, most of the sight seeing and all of the heavy walking and rafting must be done prior to your surgery.
